Hello All,
We are having trouble with "what-if" material analysis in QAD. We need to ask questions like: "What if we adjust the manufacturing schedule for certain lots?", "What if key materials expire on future dates affecting supply on hand?", or "What if a lot fails and we need to scrap large quantities of sub-assemblies?".
Q1: How do you perform simulations in QAD without impacting actual work orders and purchase orders?
Q2: Have you built an Excel model based on QAD MRP data to quickly see the impact on future days-on-hand for buy
parts? Is there an already developed product in the market that integrates with QAD to achieve this?
Any insights would be appreciated as we work on resolving these issues.
Thank you.
Thanks Mark. As Nancy is in touch with you, here I just want to reply briefly. Ability to run WHAT-IF scenarios is the center piece functionality in Production Planner. This is how planners find the best scenario using available material and capacity, if still short on something you get all details what is needed exactly and when in terms of materials and capacity so you can act accordingly. You can change priority of orders, split orders, change qty, dates, merge orders, place some low priority orders on-hold, add SIM orders, etc., right in excel spreadsheet without changing anything in QAD and check whether this schedule is feasible. Once you like it, update QAD and print Gantt chart.
